Woah, woah…. woah.

Don’t get me wrong, having pride in your country is a great thing, but there’s a difference between patriotism and bigotry/overweening-pride. America has become a melting pot of different cultures, and to say you’re proud to be an American is to say you’re proud to be part of a country that welcomes all.

To think of their mindset, I might as well say, “You live in beautiful America, and you’re playing a sport whose origins did not come from here? Do us a favor and play it not in the US.” Or even, “You live in beautiful America, and you’re posting this from a phone made in China? Do us a favor and use it over there.”
